Description
This Seiko Prospex HBC003J1 is a Heritage Motoring Countdown Speedtimer with a powder blue dial, stainless steel case and stainless steel bracelet. Inspired by neo-classic cars of the 1970s, often known as “young-timers,” this model brings a vintage motoring feel to the modern Prospex Speedtimer collection.
The Speedtimer name has an important place in Seiko’s history. First introduced in 1969, the Speedtimer was a major milestone in chronograph innovation as the world’s first automatic chronograph with a vertical clutch and column wheel. This new Heritage Motoring model carries that performance-led spirit into a clean, contemporary automatic design.
The flowing case shape takes inspiration from the 1972 Seiko “Panda” design and is finished with Seiko’s super-hard coating for added durability. The light blue dial sits beneath curved sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, helping to keep the dial clear and easy to read.
A countdown timer surrounds the dial, giving the watch a distinctive motorsport-inspired detail. The inner-ring reference triangle is finished with strong LumiBrite coating for improved visibility, while LumiBrite is also applied to the hands and indexes.
This model is powered by Seiko’s in-house 6R55 automatic calibre, offering an impressive 72-hour power reserve and accuracy of -15/+25 seconds per day. The movement also features a stop second hand function, 24 jewels and a date display positioned at 4.5 o’clock.
The stainless steel bracelet is fitted with a three-fold clasp and push button release for a secure, comfortable fit. With a compact 39.5mm case diameter, 12.0mm case thickness, 44.5mm case length and 20mm lug width, this Speedtimer has a balanced feel on the wrist.
Water resistant to 20 bar, or 200 metres, the Seiko Prospex HBC003J1 is built with everyday practicality as well as sporting capability. Prospex stands for “Professional” and “Specifications,” reflecting Seiko’s focus on reliable, durable and practical timepieces for sports lovers and adventure seekers.
Delivery and return
- In stock items will be delivered within 1-3 working days (*usually the same day if ordered before 1pm but this can vary during busy periods).
- Where size adjustments need to be made delivery is usually 7-10 working days. However if the product needs to be ordered/made to your specification, delivery can be around 4-6 weeks.
- If you need an item for a specific date please contact us prior to your purchase so we can advise you on delivery. If you need an item quicker, please ask and we'll do our best to meet your requirements.
- For a fast delivery and for insurance purposes, we send all deliveries to mainland UK addresses via Royal Mail. We offer free shipping on UK orders over £75 (excluding larger or heavier items). For orders under £75 there is a £4.95 shipping charge.

- UK (excluding Ireland) Orders up to £100 will be sent via Recorded Delivery. Orders over £100 will also be dispatched via Special Delivery.

- Customs and taxes vary in each country outside of the UK. Pease check your own country customs information as the recipient is required to pay these fees before goods will be released from customs.
RETURNS
- You have 14 days to notify us if you wish to return unwanted goods (goods must be in the same condition as they were received) and another 14 days for us to receive the goods. This means you have a total of 28 days to return an unwanted item. You are responsible for the return postage costs which must include suitable insurance cover for the item as well as being tracked delivery (we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK)
- Items returned from outside of the UK will also have our customs charges deducted from refunds.
- There will be a fee of £7.50 deducted from refunds on returned earrings for a cleaning and sterilisation process.
- If you ordered a ring in the wrong size please contact us as soon as possible to arrange re-sizing the ring with us free of charge, excluding your return shipping charge (small charges may apply for alterations on pre-owned items) Please make sure the ring is unworn as we are unable to size certain designs and will therefore need to exchange the ring.
- If you have purchased an item by interest free credit and you wish to return the item please contact us before returning to discuss your options.
- If you wish to return goods which are faulty (manufacturers fault) this must be within 6 months of the date the goods were purchased.
- Please be aware our insurance only covers items we ship out and it does not cover items sent from the consumer therefore you are responsible for the cost of returning the item including any necessary insurance cover in case the parcel is lost in transit.
- In the rare event that an item is faulty within the 28days of purchase please return your item via a tracked and insured delivery service (via Royal Mail Recorded or Royal Mail Special Delivery - depending on the value of the item) and we will refund your postage cost with a proof of receipt once we have received the goods.
