Description
The Seiko Prospex HBC006 is a 145th Anniversary Alpinist Automatic Limited Edition in Edo Purple. Created as part of a special collection to commemorate 145 years since Seiko began as a Tokyo clock and watch repair shop in 1881, this limited edition model brings together the adventurous heritage of the Alpinist collection with a distinctive anniversary colourway.
The Alpinist collection was first launched in 1959 and was originally designed for Japanese “Yama-otoko” mountain men, who needed a watch that could be relied upon in challenging terrain. This HBC006 model continues that practical outdoor spirit with a rotating compass bezel and water resistance up to 20 bar, or 200 metres.
The dial is finished in Edo Murasaki, or Edo Purple, a traditional Japanese colour that symbolises hope for the future and reflects the refined beauty of the Edo period in Tokyo. This rich purple tone gives the watch a strong anniversary identity, while staying true to the characterful styling that makes the Alpinist collection so recognisable.
The dial features cathedral-style hour and minute hands, classic Arabic numerals and wedge-shaped indices for a distinctive vintage-inspired look. The traditional Alpinist logo sits beneath the Seiko logo, echoing the detail found on the original 1950s Laurel Alpinist. The dial is protected by sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating on the inner surface, helping to improve clarity and legibility.
The stainless steel case has a super-hard coating for increased scratch resistance and shine. The case back features a Limited Edition engraving alongside the “Mountain Device” logo, a detail connected to the field-watch nature of the original Alpinist design. The watch is paired with an LWG-approved leather strap, completing its classic explorer-inspired style.
Inside the watch is Seiko’s in-house 6R55 automatic calibre, offering a 72-hour power reserve once fully wound. The movement is accurate to -15/+25 seconds per day, beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and is equipped with 24 jewels, giving the watch dependable mechanical performance for regular wear.
Prospex is a combination of the words “Professional” and “Specifications.” Seiko Prospex timepieces are designed to be practical, reliable and durable, created to meet the demands of sports lovers, adventure seekers and those who appreciate strong technical watchmaking.
As a limited edition within Seiko’s 145th Anniversary collection, the HBC006 is a special release for collectors and Alpinist enthusiasts. With its Edo Purple dial, 1959 Alpinist heritage, compass bezel and anniversary detailing, this model is expected to be a desirable addition to the Prospex range when it arrives in the UK.

Delivery and return
- In stock items will be delivered within 1-3 working days (*usually the same day if ordered before 1pm but this can vary during busy periods).
- Where size adjustments need to be made delivery is usually 7-10 working days. However if the product needs to be ordered/made to your specification, delivery can be around 4-6 weeks.
- If you need an item for a specific date please contact us prior to your purchase so we can advise you on delivery. If you need an item quicker, please ask and we'll do our best to meet your requirements.
- For a fast delivery and for insurance purposes, we send all deliveries to mainland UK addresses via Royal Mail. We offer free shipping on UK orders over £75 (excluding larger or heavier items). For orders under £75 there is a £4.95 shipping charge.

- UK (excluding Ireland) Orders up to £100 will be sent via Recorded Delivery. Orders over £100 will also be dispatched via Special Delivery.
- Please contact us for International shipping rates as these may vary.
- Customs and taxes vary in each country outside of the UK. Pease check your own country customs information as the recipient is required to pay these fees before goods will be released from customs.
RETURNS
- You have 14 days to notify us if you wish to return unwanted goods (goods must be in the same condition as they were received) and another 14 days for us to receive the goods. This means you have a total of 28 days to return an unwanted item. You are responsible for the return postage costs which must include suitable insurance cover for the item as well as being tracked delivery (we recommend Royal Mail Special Delivery within the UK)
- Items returned from outside of the UK will also have our customs charges deducted from refunds.
- There will be a fee of £7.50 deducted from refunds on returned earrings for a cleaning and sterilisation process.
- If you ordered a ring in the wrong size please contact us as soon as possible to arrange re-sizing the ring with us free of charge, excluding your return shipping charge (small charges may apply for alterations on pre-owned items) Please make sure the ring is unworn as we are unable to size certain designs and will therefore need to exchange the ring.
- If you have purchased an item by interest free credit and you wish to return the item please contact us before returning to discuss your options.
- If you wish to return goods which are faulty (manufacturers fault) this must be within 6 months of the date the goods were purchased.
- Please be aware our insurance only covers items we ship out and it does not cover items sent from the consumer therefore you are responsible for the cost of returning the item including any necessary insurance cover in case the parcel is lost in transit.
- In the rare event that an item is faulty within the 28days of purchase please return your item via a tracked and insured delivery service (via Royal Mail Recorded or Royal Mail Special Delivery - depending on the value of the item) and we will refund your postage cost with a proof of receipt once we have received the goods.
